Facelift leads the development of the access hire industry by constantly striving to improve our operations, our fleet, and the service we provide. Founded in 1985 we now have the most up to date and widest range of access equipment available, ensuring we are able to provide the right piece of equipment, at the right price.

Our machines are used by a great many professions, including architects, surveyors, tree surgeons, glaziers, lighting engineers, film units, window cleaners, TV cable companies, home decorators, bridge inspection units and a growing number of small builders. Our access equipment is helping them all to get their jobs done in a smarter and more economical manner.

The Facelift fleet now consists of over 350 machines, with operated truck mounts up to 62 metres, self drive up to 30 metres, trailer mounted and narrow access to 29 metres. We also operate the largest under bridge fleet in the UK.

History

Formed in 1985, Facelift Access Hire grew out of a property maintenance company, when Managing Director Gordon Leicester chanced upon an advert selling an ex-Hong Kong Fire Brigade cherry-picker. It was immediately apparent that using an access platform had advantages of saving both time and money over scaffolding.

With its cherry picker, facelift quickly gained the attention of other maintenance companies in the area with its speed of completion of jobs. The Company was soon inundated with requests to 'borrow' the cherry picker for all kinds of maintenance and construction tasks. Soon the hiring out of the cherry picker overtook the property maintenance and with the purchase of a second machine lead to the formation of the company as it is today.

In 1992 with a rapidly growing fleet, Facelift introduced the first of the new generation of the now ubiquitous Bronto Skylift access platforms into the UK giving it's clients previously unattainable levels of height and outreach.

Facelift was the first company in 1994 to offer machines on a self drive basis, these new machines weighing under 7.5 tons revolutionised the access hire industry, enabling everyone to operate a cherry picker, once again cutting costs for the end user.

With the introduction of trailer mounted machines in 1996 Facelift again predicted trends in access becoming the first company in the UK to run a comprehensive fleet ranging from 9 metre Nifty 90s to 29 metre Omme platforms. The trailers have the advantage of being able to be towed behind non-HGV vehicles and yet light enough to use in areas with restricted floor weights such as car parks and shopping centres.
