Facelift has recently confirmed its 750k order to Finnish based supplier Bronto Skylift, for one of the highest reaching machines available on today?s market - a Bronto 90m HLA (High Level Access). This increases its fleet of machines reaching 34m plus to well over thirty units. The 90m HLA is the latest in high level access from Bronto, and is one of the highest truck mounted platforms in the world. Windmill gets new sails

8 October 2007 E-mail this article

Facelift recently joined forces with Arden Construction and gave Chesterton windmill new sails. The Warwickshire windmill is a famous national landmark some 370 years old and believed to be one of only two in existence in the world. The sails, which weighed in at over a tonne each were intially hoisted into place using a crane. They were then positioned by millwright Neil Medcalf, using facelifts H25 TPX self propelled boom. The machine was chosen because of its ability to carry two men, tools and be manoeuvred with considerable accuracy around the windmills sails and nub. As often as not with historical sites, access was limited due to an ancient 2ft wall and raised area surrounding the mill but the machine was able to safely accommodate this. Arden Construction Manager Rob Harwood commented ? An interesting but awkward job, which was made a lot easier with the right machinery and people. I?m not sure how they would have coped in the 1600?s though?!

Facelift helps witches perform stunt flight

10 July 2007 E-mail this article

Facelift recently worked with The Brighton Theatre Group by providing a platform to help their three main principles perform a stunt flight for ?The Witches of Eastwick?. The company were looking for a machine which would allow them to ?fly? the actors up to a height of 11m and stand side by side comfortably. The 12m Aichi was hired because it features a 6.2m square rotating cage and can lift payloads of up to 1000kg smoothly and efficiently. The mornings events turned out well with Brighton Theatre Group considering the use of further platforms within the theatres settings, albeit the witches weren?t so sure about working at height! Thanks to The Argus for supplying the image.

Facelift take delivery of 52m Bronto with unique lifting ability

30 May 2007 E-mail this article

In conjunction with Finnish based supplier Bronto Skylift, Facelift Access Hire have developed a unique boom attachment for their 52m cherrypicker. This allows the machine to lift a load of up to 1,300kg with the cage, providing the ability to install glazing and cladding panels, mobile phone masts, small wind turbines and lamp columns etc. The combined unit has a maximum working height of 27m when using the jib (or 52m without). It consists of a crane extension fitted into the main boom which still allows for normal telescopic movements of the cage boom. This gives installers the ability to guide and fix objects into place whilst working from the platform. Gordon Leicester, Facelift?s MD said ?We?re very pleased with the results so far and have had excellent positive feedback from all industry sectors. This machine has helped to bridge the gap related to lift capacity and size?. <a href="http://www.facelift.co.uk/machine_finder/machine_details.cfm?machine_ID=319">Click here for further information
