On the Buses
19 September 2005 E-mail this article
Everywhere you go these days the buzzword is ?marketing? how important it is and indeed how difficult it is on occasion to remain individual and original. With the recent unveiling of the new mobile hospilatily unit we hope to have achieved this. Travelling at forty miles per hour its not the fastest thing on wheels, but as an advertising and dare we say it ?marketing exercise? its not half bad. Gordon Leicester Managing Director said ? I decided that every year we go to shows, work hard and then its time to dismantle and go home again. I started to think what we might just need to draw a crowd, and what can the company take home with it after the shows are over, apart from sore feet! So far I am very pleased with the results, I wanted it to be professional and to define our brand personality? The company intend to use the bus for shows, exhibitions and local events all over the UK throughout the year.

Facelift has made its second major investment for 2005 into the scissor lift sector with the purchase of 30 machines from Canadian supplier Skyjack. The order comprised of three models from the SJ111 series of electric scissors, ten of the 3219, with 7.6m working heights, ten 3226 units at 9.7metres and ten of the 4632 types with working heights of up to 11.6 metres. Not content with its current specialist narrow access fleet, Facelift have ordered a further five Denka 22N (narrow) machines from Danish supplier Denka. The machines, which are due for delivery during September, have a working height of 22m, site propulsion systems, rotating and removable cages, hydraulic outriggers and with a minimum width of just 0.89 metres can be moved around congested sites with ease. Due to its size entry through a standard doorway presents no problem. The machine controls are easy to use, have a non-polluting battery, 200kg cage capacity and a 240v power outlet in the cage. With a weight of 2300kg the Denka DL22N is light enough to use in areas where low floor loadings are vital and is ideally suited for use in shopping centres, churches, atriums and so on. The machines were bought because of their size, versatility and popularity with customers, and it was also the right time to increase our specialist narrow access fleet.

This recent shopping spree has added to the 10 machines already purchased in December of last year. Managing Director Gordon Leicester said ?We bought them because of their excellent all round performance in terms of hire and servicing and look set to purchase more later on in the year?.

100 Foot Spiders spotted in Poole Harbour
14 July 2004 E-mail this article
On Friday 9th July 2004, our Capital Sales Manager, Neil Wilkinson (pictured right), officially handed over to Dolphin Quays in Poole, Dorset, two, new 29 metre spider type access platforms. Consisting of over 110 apartments and many ground level boutiques, facelift worked closely alongside the architects and property developers to ensure a near perfect harmony between machine and structure was achieved. Neil explains??."One of the many important requirements from our customer was to ensure that either one of the two spiders could not be seen by the residents whilst in their outside storage areas. To achieve this and maximise available living space, two open air 'garages' were designed and constructed at a width of only 950mm. I can only say that a glove like fit was achieved during our handover!" In addition to supplying the spider platforms, facelift are fully supporting Dolphin Quays throughout their ownership by providing on site IPAF training and after sales service, inspection and spares support. Please contact our sales department on +44 (0) 23 802 22400 for any further information on the Spider products or any other access related application you would like assistance with.
