HSE launches survey on inspection of plant and equipment

4 September 2016 Email this article

The HSE is reviewing the requirements in health and safety legislation for the inspection or thorough examination of work plant and equipment.

In particular, it is looking at the following regulations to understand how they support proportionate approaches to work equipment inspection:

•           Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER)

•           Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)

•           Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR)

•           Work at Height Regulations 2005 (WAH)

The HSE wants to hear views from all types of business about how well these requirements are working and how they might be improved to promote effective equipment inspection.
