Woman in toilet has narrow escape as scaffolding collapses

Woman in toilet has narrow escape as scaffolding collapses

30 August 2014 Email this article

An Australian woman had a narrow escape whilst in a toilet cubicle recently, as she narrowly avoided being struck by scaffolding as it fell about 10 storeys from a construction site in Redfern, New South Wales.

Cora Du, who works at Appetite Cafe on Regent Street, said she had been in the toilet cubicle for about 30 seconds on Tuesday morning when she heard a loud noise and a beam crashed through the door.

Luckily, nobody was working on the scaffolding at the time of its collapse and Cora suffered only embarrassment.

Investigations into what caused the scaffolding to collapse are ongoing.
