What licence do I need for a 3.5 ton cherry picker?
You can drive a 3.5 tonne cherry picker on a standard full driving licence. If you passed your test and got your licence before 1994, you can drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonne on your licence.
If you passed your test after 1997 and want to tow a trailer, you need to pass an extra test for this. If you passed before 1997 you can pull a trailer.
If you are at all unsure whether you are licensed to drive or tow a cherry picker you see in our fleet, contact us or give us a ring on 0844 32 64 360. If you're not properly licensed, you won't be covered by your insurance, so it's very important to be sure.
The Gov.UK website has a very helpful tool to tell you what vehicles you can drive.
