A Lost load
A boom lift came off the back of a delivery truck after striking a low bridge this morning in Erdington, Birmingham, the load was simply too high to pass beneath the bridge. The top of the articulated boom struck a rail bridge which has a 4.1 metre overall height warning on it, pulling the lift off of the side of the low loader trailer – landing on its side. Thankfully it came off on the side of the verge and no one was hurt or injured on the incident.
The local fire brigade was rapidly on the scene to help with recovery and environmental issues. The bridge was also inspected for structural damage as we go to press.
