Blackfriars Bridge gets a facelift
16 September 2005 Email this articleThe UK?s largest underbridge access platform has been hired for a maintenance project on London?s Blackfriars Bridge Painting contractor CLC working on behalf of the City of London Authority, have hired the Moog 230x from access hire specialists facelift on a three-month contract. The Moog is a self-propelled trailer-mounted machine with a 1,000 kg payload capacity and an underbridge reach of 23m. Facelift bridge manager Peter Rees said, "CLC needed a fully operated machine that could carry six painters and reach at least half way under the 38m wide bridge. This is the only access machine of its kind in the UK.? Rees also added, ?CLC saw it working on other London bridges, so they knew it was the ideal piece of kit.?
