No strangers to working in Trafalgar Square, this month Facelift were called in to assist with the installation of a big blue cockerel on the fourth plinth.

German artist Katharina Fritzch is behind the oversized rooster, which is 4.7 metres tall and painted a deep matt blue. The sculpture was unveiled by Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

We used a Nifty Heightrider 17 4X4 lifting platform to complete the job, and it didn’t disappoint. Capable of lifting two men and their tools to a working height of over 17m and with an outreach of 9.6 metres, it’s also lightweight, meaning there was no damage to the pavement in the square.
