Facelift at Bauma 2013 Munich
Facelift were delighted attended this year’s Bauma 2013 exhibition in Munich, and as you might expect, we didn’t come away empty handed.
With over 555,000m2 of exhibition space and 3,256 exhibitors Bauma is one of the largest trade fairs in the world and features virtually every piece of equipment necessary to the construction sector, including machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment. With around 530,000 visitors from more than 200 countries this year’s show was the biggest and best Bauma yet. The 'Top Ten' countries of origin among the visitors were: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Russian Federation, France, Netherlands, Great Britain, Sweden and Poland.
Per Torp, export manager at Time International, manufacturer of Versalift van mounts, who were exhibiting at the show, commented: “We have never seen a show like this before. We have had more serious customers each day here than we usually get in a whole week of a normal exhibition.”
Many visitors commented on the refreshing air of optimism at Bauma, and this was certainly reflected in the array of new products being release at the show. Highlights included:
· JLG introducing its compact RS scissors into the European market
· Palfinger Platforms launching the 90 m P900 truck mount for a range of applications including the growing wind turbine market.
· Terex AWP introducing the 180 foot Genie SX-180 boom, which was a surprise launch at Bauma.
· ATN showcasing its new 11m working height PIAF 1100R vertical mast at Bauma
