Facelift flashback: Facelift photography makes it into Trafalgar Square Café
Back in May 2013, we were enjoying the result of yet another up close and personal encounter with Nelson’s Column, as photography taken during one of our jobs in Trafalgar Square was installed in the café of the Government Office for London.
Facelift regularly assists in inspection and maintenance on Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square and in 2013 Mark Mercer also went along to take birds’ eye view shots of the capital from the Bronto 61 we used.
When the Government Office for London (GLA) saw Mark’s unique images they were so impressed they had the idea to make a giant 2x3m print for the entrance to their Café in Trafalgar Square. This means that tourists from across the world can now get up close and personal with Lord Nelson himself. Mark commented: “At 52 meters the basket was rock solid allowing me to concentrate on getting great images from this unique viewpoint”.
