Five years ago, Facelift Access Hire had the pleasure of helping out with London’s HATWALK project, which saw 20 of London’s most iconic statues were adorned with new hats, Facelift helped out with HGV powered access to the tallest, including Nelsons Column and George the IV in Trafalgar Square, the Angel of Peace and The Duke of Wellington at Wellington Arch, and Shakespeare in Leicester Square. Cherry pickers used included the Bronto 61, Bronto 52, and Ascendants 22s and 18s.

Curated by world renowned British milliners, Stephen Jones and Philip Treacy; HATWALK brought together 21 emerging and established designers to showcase British millinery at its very best. Culminating in Trafalgar Square, the project celebrated London’s standing as a global capital of millinery, as well as bringing the city’s statues to life in a summer in which – because of London 2012 – the world’s eyes were on the UK’s capital city.
