Facelift Flashback: Photography from Facelift's birds' eye view makes it into Trafalgar Square Café
Facelift is regularly called upon to use its expertise in high-profile locations and this time five years ago, we were asked to assist with inspection and maintenance of the iconic Nelson’s Column in Trafalgar Square. On that occasion, we were also accompanied by photographer Mark Mercer, who came along to take birds’ eye view shots of the capital from the Bronto 61 we used.
When the Government Office for London (GLA) saw Mark’s unique images they were so impressed they had the idea to make a giant 2x3m print for the entrance to their Café in Trafalgar Square. Discussing his experience working with Facelift, Mark Mercer commented: “At 52 meters the basket was rock solid allowing me to concentrate on getting great images from this unique viewpoint”.
