Facelift MD does 'Warrior' run to remember late friend
Paul Standing, Facelift’s managing director, has completed a ‘warrior’ run in honour of a friend who has recently committed suicide.
Paul along with ten other of Martin Cadman’s relations and friends raised a whopping £3140.00 for the mental health charity Campaign against Living Miserably [CALM] and the YMCA,
The Warrior Run, which took place on Sunday October 2nd in Albourne, is touted as the south coast’s toughest obstacle run, with 50 obstacles spread over 7 kilometres of mud, tunnels, streams and swamps. In order to ensure he was fighting fit for the gruelling event, Paul completed nine weeks of training, including High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), running, body weigh strength training and circuit training.
Speaking after the event, Paul commented: “My friend Martin was much-loved and left behind his partner Clare and 4 young children, so after his death we wanted to find a way to help others in his situation”.
“Young men are responsible for 76% of all suicides in the UK and both CALM and the YMCA do great work in helping to ensure that they get the help they need.”
“Thanks to our supporters we have managed to raise more than three thousand pounds for CALM and YMCA. But have hopefully also gone some way to raising awareness and help young men to come forward and ask for help. If you would like to donate the just giving page is in the link below. RIP Chad. Thanks again from Chad's Warriors”.
