Facelift provides ZT Harness Training for Brighton's i360
Facelift and ZT Safety Systems have teamed with electrical services company ES Connect to ensure that Brighton’s i360 observation tower is built as safely as possible.
Facelift delivered harness training, while ZT supplied six new harnesses to the team, who are currently working on the tower, which is being built near the West Pier on the city’s seafront.
After careful consultation with Facelift’s experts, ES Connect selected the ZT Dual Harness with Front & Rear Attachments to keep their workers safe. This innovative, fully patented harness’ design removes the need to groin straps, meaning it is both comfortable to wear and reduces the risk of damage and trauma to the body caused by these straps in the event of a fall.
And the best possible fall protection is certainly essential on this job; the tower is set to be 531 ft tall once complete. With a diameter of just four metres, and a height-to-diameter ratio of 40 to one, it is set to be the world’s most slender tall tower. Designed, engineered and manufactured by the team behind the London Eye, the i360 tower will also feature the world’s first vertical cable car and the world’s tallest moving observation tower.
