Free training tool launched for sustainable house-building
A free online training tool aiming to boost awareness of energy efficiency and sustainability in the house-building sector launched last month.
The Supply Chain Sustainability Portal has been designed to equip construction workers at managerial level or above with skills in the latest sustainable practices.
Set up by the Supply Chain Sustainability School, the project received funding from the CITB as part of its commitment to ensuring the construction industry has the right skills to encourage growth. Training is delivered through a combination of e-modules and workshops after users carry out an initial self-assessment that gives them a 10-point plan of study.
It is hoped the resource will help to maintain a focus on quality and efficiency throughout the supply chain as the Government pushes to achieve its target of building a million homes by 2020.
