New Ferret goes higher and hire
20 July 2001 Email this articleFacelift, the Hickstead hire company now has the appropriately named Ferret, the first machine of it?s kind from Avant Tecno UK. It provides access to areas unsuitable for larger and heavier rough terrain equipment. Currently on hire to Gleeson Homes in Reading from Facelift?s new Southampton depot, the ferret is enabling access to complete finishing touches to external works before landscaping. Site manager Dave Smith said; "This machine is nimble, versatile and extremely easy to set up quickly." Being narrow, the Ferret can gain access through restricted openings and pathways (0.96m wide and 0.87m wide); it is light, so reduces the likelihood of sinking into softer terrain (weighs 1,300Kg); and it?s dimensions allow it to complete with larger machines (12.5m height, 6.3m outreach). With two Ferrets working hard, the machines are proving so popular that Facelift already has another on order to cope with demand.
