Oh Christmas tree...
As people up and down the country venture out to buy their annual Norwegian Spruce, we’ve been taking a look through some of our Christmas projects over the last decade
In 2012, for example, we were tasked with putting up the 18 metre Christmas tree that graces London’s Trafalgar Square each year. Gifted to the UK by the people of Norway as a token of gratitude for our support during the Second World War, the tree took our team a whopping five hours to put up and the time lapse video of us putting up the tree was featured in Sainsbury’s 2013 Christmas campaign “Christmas in a Day”
Similarly, in 2016 we tackled another festive job that certainly wasn’t for anyone with a fear of heights, decorating the 118 ft. tall tree in the National Trust’s Wakehurst Place - the tallest Christmas tree in the UK that year. We used a Bronto 61 & Bronto 50 truck to decorate it with 1,800 lights and a lantern made by local children – a task that took us nearly all day to complete.
