PHOTO CAUSES PROBLEMS FOR GERMAN MANUFACTURER
Ruthmann, a German aerial platform and utility vehicle manufacturer, were left red in the face recently when a marketing photo fell foul of Vertikal magazine’s editorial team.
The photo shows a mid-range truck mounted lift showcasing its remarkable below ground level reach. The only problem, say Vertikal, is that the work is taking place over a busy road where it could easily collide with passing traffic – something the magazine suggested was somewhere in between a ‘suicide mission’ and a ‘death wish’.
Ruthmann’s marketing team were quick to wade into the debate and explain that a little camera trickery was used to demonstrate the machine’s impressive capabilities, and that ‘in reality the platform was nowhere near the carriageway of the road and the man or machine were never in any danger’.
