Supermarket scissor thief
Two thieves were stranded in the early hours of the morning after they stole a scissor lift from a supermarket construction site in Birmingham, UK.
The two men had apparently stolen the lift from a local supermarket and driven it down some distance, before they took it up to full height and then either ran out of fuel or battery charge, stranding them in freezing temperatures.
Unable to get the platform down, the police were called to help them down and take them straight into custody.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “Two Birmingham men have been arrested on suspicion of theft after police were called to Mackadown Lane, in Tile Cross, just after 1am, where a cherry picker from a local supermarket site had been driven down the road. The men, aged 25 and 23, had to be assisted off the mobile crane after becoming stuck in the air.”
