The weighty issue of safety harnesses

27 September 2013 Email this article

If you’re a little on the larger side, finding a harness to fit can be a problem, as most harnesses on the UK market are designed and tested to carry maximum 100kg (approx. 16 stone) user weight.

However ZT Safety Systems Ltd has the solution. Their entire range has been designed to carry users up to 150kg (approx. 23.5 stone) as standard. What’s more ZT Safety Systems Ltd can also design and manufacture safety harnesses in bespoke sizes.

Size and weight are very important factors to take into consideration when choosing a safety harness. Whatever brand you use, the manufacturer’s guidebook must always be checked to ensure that you not only have the correct size harness for the user but the lanyard/fall arrest block is suitable for the additional weight load as well.
