Two teens arrested after cherry picker incident
Two Grimsby teenagers were arrested earlier this month after reports that one lifted the other 50ft into the air using a cherry picker parked up outside a pub. Humberside Police confirmed that two males, aged 16 and 17, had been arrested on Monday night after reports that the pair had interfered with the machinery at the rear of Wingate Parade, near the town’s Willows Estate.
Discussing the case, Councillor Peggy Elliott said: "I'm very concerned about the safety of young people in this area. Like most wards, there is a shortage of activities for them with youth clubs closing – it's very sad. There are some youngsters who can get a bit silly around our shopping precinct but it's just lucky that there were no injuries."
